Bridge to the future: a bridge over the Sheksna River, the main infrastructure facility of the region should be commissioned in August 2022.

Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov came on an official visit to Cherepovets on February 18th. The Governor inspected the construction of the bridge, assessed its construction readiness with the experts and discussed its financing and organization of transport logistics.
Mr. Kuvshinnikov underlined that the work is being carried out in full, in accordance with the schedule, and by the end of the year all general construction work of the bridge will be completed and the new bridge will open to traffic and pedestrians in 2022.
In 2020, high construction rates were achieved thanks to the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. About RUR 6.2 bln were allocated from the federal budget for the construction of the bridge in Cherepovets. About a week ago, the Russian Ministry of Transport announced that financial support of the bridge construction will continue.
The new bridge will form a transport ring of Cherepovets City connecting four large districts and will create conditions for radial flow of public transport.
