During the Eurosatory 2012 exhibition (11-15 June 2012, Paris, France) the Joint Stock Company Rosoboronexport and French Thales Optronics company concluded a licence agreement for the manufacture of the Catherine XP new generation thermal imagers at the Vologda optical-mechanical plant. The two companies also signed a contract for repairs in Russia of thermal imagers made by Thales Optronics.

This summer, the Kremlin Museum is home to some of the country’s most renowned walls of icons — not art that is easy to transport. These walls, or iconostases, are brought to the seat of government from the Orthodox Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. Located outside of the town now called Kirillov, the monastery was founded in 1397 by St. Kirill of Beloozero.

ZAO Air Liquide Severstal, a joint venture between Air Liquide and OAO Severstal, one of the world’s leading vertically integrated steel and steel-related mining companies, has successfully launched a plant to produce industrial gases for CherMC at Cherepovets Steel Mill, part of Severstal’s Russian Steel Division. The total investment in the project has reached 50 million euros.

Alexey Mordashov, CEO of OAO Severstal, one of the world’s leading steel and steel-related mining companies, has today been awarded with the Cross of Recognition, Degree III, which is one of Latvia’s highest honours, in recognition of his contribution to Latvia’s economic development. The award was presented by the Latvian President Andris Bērziņš.
