Today I’ll be taking you around the official home town of Russia’s Santa Claus and taking a look at the things the mythical gift giver does around the town. As usual, I’ll tell you about some of the museums, other sights and, of course, the history.

One hundred years ago, April 15, 1812, the first Russian colony appeared in California. Twenty-five Russians along with 80 Aleuts headed by Ivan Kuskov, Chief Administrator of the Russian-American Company (RAC), stepped ashore near the mouth of an unnamed river (which they subsequently named the Slavyanka, present-day Russian River) and established Fort Ross.

Chevakata won convincingly over Arras on Wednesday to book a spot in the EuroCup Women Semi-Finals.
Svetlana Makhlina led the scoring parade with 17 points as the Russian team prevailed in the second leg of the Quarter-Final tie, 71-56.
Chevakata won by 24 points on aggregate.

Dignitaries from Montclair's sister city in Russia sampled pizza, visited Ground Zero, saw a Broadway play, planted a tree, went to Montclair State University and tried to lay the foundation for more collaboration and cooperation with the township during their visit to the United States this weekend.

("Lybica") has entered into a legally binding heads of terms agreement (the "Heads of Terms") with Afferro Mining Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Mano River Iron Ore Holdings Limited ("Mano"), for the purchase of 38.5% interest in the Putu Iron Ore Project, Liberia ("Putu"). Severstal currently holds the remaining 61.5% interest in Putu.
