This year, 2012, marks a milestone in Russia-U.S. relations with the bicentennial of Fort Ross, a historic settlement on the California’s Sonoma Coast and lasting symbol of bilateral friendship. Russia has always been defined in fundamental ways by its forests. Over the centuries, the vast northern forests have provide shelter and refuge, sustenance, wealth and spiritual inspiration. The peoples of Russia have from time immemorial dwelled in a primarily wooden environment. Pine and fir have been the most common material, with aspen and birch for secondary details. Larch has also been used, particularly in northern churches. In Russia, as in Europe, the great ancient oak forests have largely disappeared, but medieval chronicles refer to major oak structures built by the eastern Slavs, predecessors of today’s Russians.

On 11-14 January Linum Group participated in the first world-scale event 2012 for manufacturers, designers and buyers of home textile products and interior accessories - Heimtextile international exhibition in Frankfurt (Germany). The city is known as the place of origin for all fashion trends in home textile industry for the whole year to come. Participation of Linum Group in the exhibition was a great success: the attention of the visitors of the stand was compelled to a cosy and warm exposition; jacquard articles from new collection Spring-Summer 2012 were highly assessed by the experts and were displayed in the trend hall of the exhibition.
